American Idol Antonella Barba Or Something Like That

With the new found fame of Antonella Barba because of her racy photos, it’s certainly not because of her singing talent, everyone is looking for her in search engines. And because there are tens of thousands of searches for her name every day that’s a lot of chances to misspell it. She does have kind of a funky name, so people are bound to butcher it when they enter it into Google, Yahoo or MSN.
The many ways her first name have been spelled are Antonelli, Atonell, Anatella, Antella, and Antinella, Antonia and everything else in between. There are probably many hundreds of different ways to misspell her name and these are only a few. And of course her last name gives people fits as well. The two most common mistakes for her last name and the one that got me are Barbara and Barbra.
Some of the most common misspellings of her name are these winners:

American Idol Guys Underwhelmed Tonight

I don’t know what it is about the guys on American Idol this season, but they are just kind of boring. And tonight was very indicative of that, it was just plain lame tonight. Randy, Paula and Simon were ultimately responsible for putting the guys they thought were the best, up for a vote. If it wouldn’t have been for Blake Lewis and Chris Sligh it would have been a waste of an hour to sit through their performances.
Here’s how the guys stacked up tonight:
Blake Lewis - This guy can really sing! I’m not sure of the name of the song but it was hot and Blake got a thumbs up from all three judges. He is incredibly entertaining.
Sanjaya Malakar - Sanjaya had such promise, but I don’t know what happened. He looks like he is totally out of place up there on the stage. He just doesn’t have that spark the winner needs and I think it’s time for him to go.
Sundance Head - I like Pearl Jam because the lead singer could scream, in key. I don’t believe Sundance did that tonight.
Chris Richardson - I don’t think Chris does country that well. He still sounds like a boy band member singing country. It just didn’t work for me.
Jared Cotter - His rendition of If You Really Love Me by Stevie Wonder came across as a good performance at a wedding reception, but not worthy of American Idol. I think Jared needs to change his style. He had the same look he had last week.
Brandon Rogers - His rendition of I Just Want To Celebrate was worthy of a backup singer and throughout the competition Brandon keeps proving that’s what he deserves, to be a backup singer.
Phil Stacey - Phil screamed his way through his song tonight and he just looked weird as well. He had a totally mismatched outfit this evening that didn’t work, along with his singing.
Chris Sligh - Thank God for Chris or the evening would have been a waste of time. He definitely put on the best performance of the night.
Okay guys, you have to be better than what we just heard this evening or all but 2 of you will be going home very soon. If it weren’t for Blake Lewis and Chris Sligh I would have been bored stiff. In fact there really isn’t any reason to keep any one other than these two guys around for any longer.
Where are the guys we love who had personality and that special something that was Idol worthy like Elliott Yamin and Bo Bice? This season is shaping up to be pretty pathetic for the guys.
Let’s hope the ladies do much better tomorrow evening.

Maybe Rosie O’Donnell Won’t Vote For Antonella Barba

Rosie O’Donnell piped up this morning in The View and had something to say about the fact that Antonella Barba is still on American Idol. Rosie claimed that Idol is “racist and weightist” because a former contestant, Frenchie Davis, was removed from the show for her racy photos while Rosie impersonated Donald Duck. Rosie mentioned that Frenchie is black and overweight and Antonella is not. Is Rosie Barbaraist? She was talking like Barbara Walters when Barbara wasn’t their to defend herself.
The only problem with Rosie’s opinion is that we don’t really know if the worst of the photos were really of Antonella. I’ve read several opinions that thought the pics might have been doctored so Rosie, you might be a little off base here. I don’t really know that much about the photos of Frenchie though.
The fact is thought that America keeps voting for Antonella because she is getting so much publicity thanks to people like Rosie. Rosie please do us a favor and use your influence to urge people to vote for someone else besides Antonella. That’s the best way to get her off the show.

Please Vote Antonella Barba Off American Idol

Okay America, you have your chance to vote Antonella Barba off of American Idol this week! We all know the woman can’t sing and she’s only popular because there are some naughty photos of her on the internet.
You do know what I’m talking about don’t you?
I mean come on, we could have had Baylie Brown or Rachel Zevita entertain us for the last couple of weeks instead of Antonella Barba. Puuuuleese!
She’s going to sing some lame song Wednesday night in front of the entire nation and she’s going to be awful, just like she was for her audition, for Hollywood week and for the last two weeks. Even the judges know she isn’t any good, which kind of makes me wonder how she got in the top 24 in the first place.
Please America, do your duty and vote for someone else besides Antonella on Wednesday night.

Sweet little Kellie Pickler showed up on American Idol last night singing a song from her album Small Town Girl and sporting new shoes and larger breasts as you can see from the photo to the left. Ryan Seacrest even asked Kellie, “So, what have you been spending your money on since the success of your album?” To which Kellie replied in her southern drawl, “shews.” Ryan then countered with, “Is that all” while gawking at Kellie’s new front end.
It looks like Kellie might have been infected by the Hollywood bug and thinks she needs to play some imaginary person that she isn’t. As another blog commented, Kellie looked like an aging 40 year old country singer instead of the sweet and clueless little country girl from Albemarle North Carolina. I wonder if Kellie has a fashion assistant now that shes’s earning the big bucks or if she’s doing her own styling?
Oh Kellie, we can only hope that your new found success doesn’t completely go to your head, and other parts of your body. Maybe it was just weight gain and a strategically cupped new bra, ya think?

Antonella Barba Is Still On American Idol

The voting on American Idol is beginning to amaze me. As Paula Abdul said, “This is a singing competition”, but apparently America doesn’t understand that because Antonella Barba is still on the show. Now we know that she got votes because she has racy photos on the internet instead of for her singing ability, she has none.
Another shocker was Sanjaya Malakar. I do like Sanjaya, but even he was shocked that he is going to stay on the show and AJ Tabaldo is going home. Go figure! The reason Sanjaya got votes was because of the way Simon completely humiliated him on the show 2 nights ago. If the judges want this to really be a singing competition, then they should be careful what they say. Pity votes come out as a result. Are you listening Simon Cowell?
The only one of my predictions I got right was Nick Pedro. As is evident from the voting thought that this is turning into more of a popularity contest than a talent contest.
We were graced by Kellie Pickler this evening on American Idol and she was looking as sharp as ever. It was apparent that Kellie has been spending her money on more than just shoes since her new found American Idol fame. Okay, let’s just say it, her breast enhancement was quite noticeable for crying out loud. Kellie has now gone from gorgeous to awkward. I mean can you look at her and not notice she’s had a little, or a lot of, surgery? Ryan Seacrest asked her if she had been spending her money on anything but shoes, to which she remained completely clueless. That’s what we love about Kellie.
Anyway, back to the contestants voted off American Idol tonight. The four going home are:
Nick Pedro - Sorry Nick, maybe you can get a part on the next Apprentice though.
Alaina Alexander - Her Dixie Chicks (those chicks make me ill) rendition wasn’t enough to do it for America. Maybe it’s because the Dixie Chicks are such bimbos and we can’t stand your music or politics. Okay, I’m off my soapbox.
AJ Tabaldo - I’m pretty shocked here. I thought AJ did quite well the last 2 weeks and although I didn’t think he would be the winner, I didn’t expect to see him go this week.
Leslie Hunt - What can I say about Leslie? I don’t think she was that bad, Antonella certainly should have gone home in her place, but Leslie just didn’t have that Idol something. I thought she looked rather uncomfortable on stage.
It’s turning out to be a weird Amrican Idol this season.

American Idol Ladies Top 10

The top 10 ladies sang on American Idol tonight and I do believe as a group they weren’t quite as good as the guys last night. However, I do think the best girl Idols are better than the best guy Idols. The less talented ladies really stood out tonight though like Antonella Barba, I mean, she can’t sing!
Here’s how the show went down with the American Idol Girls tonight:
Gina Glocksen - The girl can sing and I don’t care what Simon says Gina sang Heart from the heart and she was edgy. She rocked!
Alaina Alexander - Alaina sang I’m Not Ready To Make Nice by the Dixie Chicks (who everybody can’t stand right about now) and she did a pretty good job considering how she sounded last week. I don’t think she was as bad as Randy and Simon made her out to be.
Lakisha Jones - She started out a little bit nervous tonight with her rendition of Midnight Train To Georgia, but she pulled it together and was still in the top 2 contestants tonight.
Melinda Doolittle - She was the best performer of the night and looked totally professional. Her rendition of My Funny Valentine was first class, Simon loved it and said she was a breath of fresh air. You go girl!
Antonella Barba - Why is she still here? She butchered Celine Dion’s Because You Loved Me. It was flat and seriously boring and it’s a travesty that she made it as far as she did when girls like Baylie Brown had way more talent. By, by Antonella.
Jordin Sparks - With all of the other top ladies singing tonight, I don’t think Jordin sounded that good. Yes, she has talent, but I think she can do better.
Stephanie Edwards - This is the first time I’ve actually heard Stephanie sing and I think she did okay even though I don’t like Beyonce. The song was way to busy for me.
Haley Scarnato - She sang Queen Of The Night, but didn’t sound like a queen. Her performance was great, but her vocals weren’t. I think she’s going home with Antonella.
Leslie Hunt - The jazz vocal run at the end of her didn’t sound good. There are only a few singers in the world that can do that and if you aren’t one of them, you shouldn’t try.
Sabrina Sloan - Sabrina looks like an American Idol and she sang like one tonight. Her Whitney rendition was incredible and she exudes confidence. If she plays her cards right she could win the whole thing.
So, who’s going home on Thursday? My prediction is that Antonella Barba and Haley Scarnato will be voted off. Antonella was pitiful and Haley just doesn’t have the voice to compete.

Antonella Barba - Will Simon Make A Comment?

Do you think Simon will comment on Antonella Barba tonight? Simon Cowell is notorious for making snide remarks to American Idol contestants after their performances and since the Antonella Barba picture scandal is the biggest thing on the net right now, how can Simon resist?
Simon was unusually cruel to Sanjaya Malakar last night about his wardrobe and was quite derogatory to other contestants about their dedications to their Grandmothers and other family members. So, I can’t imagine Simon not slipping in some sort of innuendo tonight, it’s just in his nature.
Things could be particularly brutal for Antonella if she doesn’t make a good impression tonight. Even if she puts on a really bad performance tonight she is likely to get people to vote for her because of her popularity. She is the most tagged name on Technorati.com right now so we shall see what happens tonight and on the voting results tomorrow night.

American Idol Girls Sing Tonight

After the American Idol guys put on a great performance last night, the girls are up tonight. After last week’s performances it looked as thought the ladies were going to steal the show. It’s amazing how much different a week can make. For instance, Sundance Head was a totally difference person last night.
The American Idol ladies that are singing tonight are:
Antonella Barba - Big controversy here with the photos. Can Antonella put that behind her and sing?
Hayley Scarnato
Melinda Doolittle - One of the better performers in the entire competition
Alaina Alexander - She had to deliver a knockout tonight or she will be gone.
Gina Glocksen - There’s just something about Gina I like. She doesn’t seem to be the usual cut of top 40 performers.
Lakisha Jones - Lakisha has the talent to win the whole thing. She put on an incredible performance last week and was by far the most talented of all the contestants, male or female. She needs to show a little more confidence during the interview after her songs, but there’s nothing wrong with her singing ability.
