Carrie Underwood Scores At The Grammys
February 12, 2007 | Leave a Comment
American Idol Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood made a big score last night at the 49th Grammys in Los Angeles. Carrie proved beyond any doubt that American Idol is changing music in the United States and all over the world with her claiming two Grammy Awards.
Carrie’s Jesus Take The Wheel from her album Some Hearts won an award for Female Country Vocal Performance and the second Grammy was for Best New Artist. And to think that just two years ago Carrie Underwood was a complete unknown.
This win is continuation of success for American Idol as a show and obviously for the winners. With another season in the works and new CD’s out like Katharine McPhee’s self titled album and Elliot Yamin’s just around the corner no telling how much more impact American Idol will have on the face of popular music.
Congratulations to Carrie Underwood!

Remember Mary Roach & Her American Idol Audition?
February 6, 2007 | Leave a Comment
We certainly love watching the weirdest people audition for American Idol. They come in all shapes and sizes and they are wearing all sorts of costumes these days. Some of the Idol wannabes just can’t sing, others have a bit more personality if you will. We now refer to these Idol wannabes and American Idol Rejects. I think I really started to get into Idol during the 2005 season and one of the first reject and most bizarre auditions I saw was Mary Roach singing Carole King’s I Feel The Earth Move. Sometimes I feel sorry for the contestants, but this girl was just weird because she was so sure she was good and had the strangest personality of any contestant I’ve seen.

Carrie Underwood American Idol First Audition
February 5, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Here’s Carrie Underwood’s first audition in front of Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell with Paul Abdul being absent. I thought Paula was there during Carrie’s initial audition because I thought I had seen it. What I find weird about this audition is that they never show you a full shot of the table where the judges are sitting. You get individual shots of Simon and Randy, but none of them together. And there isn’t the usual Ryan Seacrest interviews after Carrie’s audition. Honestly the whole thing is kind of strange, but the video is good. Hopefully we’ll get to watch it awhile before Youtube removes it.
