Finally, one of my predictions was actually correct. I don’t want to gloat on this one however because the competition gets really tough at this point. Chris Richardson and Blake Lewis became best friends and Phil Stacey was definitely the most improved Idol on this year’s show. The unity and love this group of people develops is a strong bond and it’s tough to see anyone go.

Even thought it is sad to see someone have to go, Chris had a good perspective. He said, “Hey, we get to go on tour together.” That’s right, the top 10 American Idols will be going on tour all over the country shortly after the show is over. So yes America, we haven’t seen the last of Sanjaya Malakar unfortunately.

Now that I have one prediction under my belt I’m going to make another one or actually two. I’m going to predict how I think the last 4 will end up and then how I would actually like to see them end up.

First, here’s how I think the contestants end up, in order:

Melinda Doolittle - Melinda will win and I think we’ve all know that from the first time we saw her in Hollywood week.

Jordin Sparks comes in second.

Blake Lewis comes in third.

Lakisha Jones goes home next week.

How I would like to see it end up:

Melinda Doolittle wins. She’s first in both!

Lakisha Jones comes in second. I think Lakisha has the talent to place second, but she was in the bottom two the week before last and that shows she doesn’t have the support to make it much further.

Jordin Sparks - Jordin is incredible, but I think Lakisha has more raw talent.

Blake Lewis - I like Blake and he has a great style, but as far as sheer talent, the ladies have him beat.

There are only 3 more weeks of American Idol and then the traffic to this blog dries up to about nothing. Maybe I’ll write about more celebrity gossip, but maybe I won’t waste my time.

      Hi Alan
      With a title like “American Idol News” can you be surprised that your traffic dries up when the show concludes? Anyway, my finishing order is:

      1. Melinda
      2. Blake
      3. Jordin or LaKisha
      4. Jordin or LaKisha

      Melinda is so “hot” that she’s on fire and it will have to be something remarkable to put it out.
      Blake is more of a quandary but I think his determination and willingness to take chnaces will take him to 2nd position.
      If Jordin sings badly again next week then she will leave, otherwise it will be LaKisha.
      Well, that’s my analysis. Enjoy!

      Well Martin - I have a feeling you are so right - BUT - I am hoping so much for Jordin to take it all or Blake. Melinda is almost too perfect and I am wondering if she really belongs. She is above the amatuer level that is usually on AI. It is so hard to see any of them leave at this stage of the game - they have all worked so hard and put their hearts into it! I think most are agreeing that it will probably be Lakisha heading home. Too many “poor” weeks for her. Although I thought Phil was coming on up - it kind of suprised me that Lakisha stayed with only one good performance in weeks and Phil had three very good weeks. Oh well - Happy Idoling!
