I guess the large MLM network of EcoQuest dealers helped push Phil Stacey to an undeserved position on American Idol as he has made it into the top 10 as announced tonight on the results show. Another equal shocker was that Sanjaya Malakar also was not in the bottom 3 contestants tonight.

Once again my Idol prediction was wrong as I picked Phil Stacey to go home and it turned out to be Stephanie Edwards that got the boot on tonight’s show. It is sad that the show has become more of a popularity contest rather than a talent contest and Idol hopefuls are getting the blessings of being on the show when their talent isn’t what got them this far.

Read an excerpt from an email I received from EcoQuest International asking its dealers to vote for Phil:

Please help us get word out – VOTE PHIL AS MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN this Tuesday night, March 20TH!

Phil’s family is asking you to be a SUPER RECRUITER- tell everyone to VOTE PHIL! Please show him support in any way, place, venue available! He is a tremendous husband and father, and would make a great role model for the youth of today. Watch, listen, and vote for Phil!

Now EcoQuest International may be able to muster up some 50,000 or more distributors. Now just imagine all 50,000 voting several times 10, 20, 30 times, that’s a lot of extra undeserved votes. Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against Phil Stacey as a person, he just isn’t the most talented guy in the top 11 which is now the top 10. It should be talent that brings the contestants to the top, not an army of voters!

Anyway, there you have it. Stephanie Edwards goes home when it should have been Phil Stacey or Sanjaya Malakar that got the boot. Hopefully and eventually the most TALENTED person will win…

And that would be Melinda Doolittle!

Sanjaya may have been in the bottom 3 ,rememeber they only had 2 in the bottom.Sanjaya was in the last group of 3 to be called-if that helps any!!

The show was awful any way-no group song and Stephanie did not get to sing or talk to the judges. The show has alwyas been a popularity contest and this year it really shows with the Sanjaya mess. The judges got what they deserve by putting him in the top 24,Sanjaya goes on tour! Now that he is in the top 10 I hope he goes home next.

Sources say that Phil was in the bottom three. Chris R wasn’t. Idol did a bad thing and mislead the viewers last night with the “bottom three” results. Phil is more deserving than Stephanie to make top 10. Stephanie is such a cookie cutter that I am glad she is gone. There was nothing unique about her at all. Even Sanjaya has some uniqueness to him….uniquely bad is still unique. Stephanie was just plain boring! Glad she’s gone.

I think you must not really be listening to Phil when he sings. H e has the best vocal range of all of the male performers. Sure, he has a mild mannered appearance, but you can’t say that he isnt at least worthy of the top 5. Blake has no range at all…neither does Chris R…and don’t get me started about Sanjaya.

I think you are right that this has become a different kind of contest besides who is the best singer. I am a good friend of Phils and only vote one time for him. It he is meant to win this then he will. You want to talk about all of the little teenagers calling and voting for Sanjaya 100 time each then lets do that. I promise you that there is more then that going on with him and a couple of other then there is with Phil. You are right thought that this has become a popularity contest and not really what it was designed for. I see it in the Judges eyes. BUT….they are the ones who put them there in the first place. They could have sent some of them home earlier but they didn’t. You have hit the nail on the head but don’t just put this on Phil only. Thanks!
