I think it’s pretty obvious to everyone at this point that either Melinda Doolittle or Lakisha Jones will win American Idol this season. With the possible exception of Jordin Sparks, none of the other Idol contestants is even remotely talented enough to compete with these two ladies.

Melinda Doolittle sang Home, from the Wiz on Tuesday night that had such feeling it made a crying mess out of Paula Abdul and had the crowd going bonkers. Melinda is the consummate performer and when she sings she just knows she’s a star without having an attitude about it. I can’t say enough good about Melinda.

Lakisha Jones sang God Bless The Child and it was as if we were at a concert, not watching American Idol. It wasn’t even in the same league, it wasn’t even in the same auditorium as the rest of the contestants. Lakisha stood out all by herself and the guys shouldn’t even be allowed on the same stage with her.

Jordin Sparks has a slight chance of winning, but although she has great talent, it isn’t as mature and polished as Lakisha and Melinda. Give Jordin a couple more years and she will be up there with the best.

Come on America let’s get real and put the people who deserve it up on top. A vote for anyone other than Lakisha Jones, Melinda Doolittle or Jordin Sparks is a waste of a phone call.

Yes, I have another American Idol prediction even though I don’t have a very good record. Here goes - Melinda Doolittle will win American Idol thie year. There I said it. You go Melinda!

Those top three females are so talented and for her age - Jordin is outstanding. She was when she was in my vocal studio and continues to “wow” all of us each week at the viewing parties in her honor. Good luck to all of the contestants!
