The drama unfolded on American Idol this evening as the bottom three contestants were called out to the middle of the stage. At the end Brandon Rogers, Phil Stacey and Sanjaya Malakar were in that group. As if you didn’t notice, it was all guys in the bottom 3 tonight reflecting the sentiment of the judges that the ladies would stomp the guys if they didn’t sing better.

Tonight the first of the Top 12 American Idol’s got the axe and it turned out to be a not unexpected Brandon Rogers. Throughout the competition Brandon consistently proved that he was not much better than his profession as a backup singer. Even though he had sung for well known talent such as Christina Aguilera he just couldn’t muster up the talent to convince America that he deserved to be a lead singer.

Sanjaya Malakar certainly deserved to be in the bottom 3, but he got another chance to sing again probably because of VoteForTheWorst.com and a mention on the Howard Stern show to vote for Sanjaya. Btu the fact that Sanjaya was actually in the bottom 3 shows that the rest of America is getting tired of him and he will probably be the one to go next week.

I’m surprised that Haley Scarnato wasn’t in the bottom 3 after her lyric forgetting performance last night. Making that mistake is the kiss of death for Idol contestants, but it didn’t turn out to be for Haley. Her time is limited though.

Although Brandon leaving wasn’t a total shocker, i still think that Sanjaya should’ve been the one getting the boot. The only thing entertaining about him is his different styles of hair every week. He should personally thank Howard Stern and votefortheworst.com for helping him mantain his place in American Idol.

I’d have to agree with that Alex. But being that he was in the bottom three, Sanjaya may not last too much longer.

      WHY????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
      Sanjaya Malakar?????????????????????????????????????
He should have been gone long ago and again tonight. Is everyone voting a girl under 15?
Lite wimpy voice, sure a nice guy, but do you really want to buy his record? I mean Brandon may not have done a great job with Diana Ross, but he’s a hell of lot better singer AND isn’t he just as cute?
And why would anyone keep Haley in over Phil. I don’t know, but I wish someone would explain it to me.
