Alright, we’ve seen the American Idol auditions for season 6 and we’ve experienced all of the good, bad, weird and scary that America has to offer. The next step is Hollywood week which can be more brutal than the initial auditions. Out of Hollywood week comes 12 guys and 12 girls that finally get whittled down to the top 12 when the real competition begins.

Honestly, I believe there was a lack of talent on American Idol this year, unless we’re going to be surprised by someone we haven’t seen yet. In past years there has more than enough good contestants to fill the top 12 positions, this year however, was a bit thin. I don’t think the producers would be hiding someone on us because the viewers need to start identifying with potential winners early so they can form a mental bond with them. I don’t believe we’ve seen a winner on Idol yet that we didn’t see early in the auditions. I thought Kellie Pickler would win the moment I heard her first audition. She didn’t win of course, but she has a great musical career ahead of her.

Here are my top 12 American Idol predictions below. I’m not going to predict a winner because so much can happen as the contestants get groomed for stardom. I will however say that I was most impressed by Sanjaya Malakar and Sarah Krueger.

12. Chris Sligh
