Music & CD’s From American Idol Finalists Season 5

All of the 12 American Idol finalists have at least one recording of themselves on the American Idol Season 5 Encores CD, but some have full length albums out besides the winner Taylor Hicks.

Listed below are the 12 finalists for the 2006 season of Idol and whether they have an album out, they are only on the Idol CD or a CD is in the works.

Ace Young - Has a single out entitled Scattered and recorded Father Figure on the Idol Season 5 CD.

Bucky Covington - Recorded Stevie Wonder’s Superstition on Season 5 CD and has a single to be released January 16th entitled A Different World. Bucky’s album is scheduled to be released April 7th, 2007.

Chris Daughtry - Chris recorded Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive for the group Idol effort and is having a big hit with his band’s debut album entitled Daughtry selling more than 1 million copies.

Elliott Yamin - Recorded Moody’s Mood For Love for the Season 5 Encores CD and has released a great version of This Christmas by Donny Hathaway. Will be releasing an album on February 14th of this year that should do well.

Katharine McPhee - Recorded Think for the Idol CD and has released Somewhere Over The Rainbow, I Lost You as singles and is coming out with Over It from her soon to be released Katharine McPhee self entitled album with a too hot cover. Whose decision was that?

Kellie Pickler - Recorded Walkin After Midnight for the Encore Idol Season 5 CD and released Red Shoes as a single from her Small Town Girl album that’s doing quite well. Yes, it’s country all the way.

Kevin Covais - Recorded When I Fall In Love for the group Idol CD. No further recording plas as of yet.

Lisa Tucker - Lisa recorded Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours) for the group Idol project and has recorded on 4 other albums. Not planning an album as of yet.

Mandisa - Recorded I’m Every Woman for the Idol CD. Doesn’t have recording plans at the present time.

Melissa McGhee - Recorded What About Love for the Idol group CD but doesn’t have anything on the horizon at this time.

Paris Bennett - Recorded a terrific Gladys Night’s Midnight Train To Georgia for the Idol CD and performed a knockout version of it during her first top 12 song that made us all realize Paris had major talent behind that squeaky voice. Her album Dreamin is due out sometime this year.

Taylor Hicks - The winner recorded Michael McDonald’s Takin’ It To The Streets for the Idol CD effort and did a knock ‘em dead version during the March 8th 2006 Idol show. Had 2 previous albums to his credit before Idol and released Taylor Hicks as his winner’s CD.
