Rachel Zevita Is Back On American Idol
January 20, 2011 | Leave a Comment
Are there any Rachel Zevita fans out there in American Idol land? Well, good news, she is back. If you remember Rachel from season 6, yes, that’s 4 years ago, I wrote about her and asked the question “What happened to Rachel Zevita” because she simply disappeared from the show without a trace. She made it to Hollywood, but we never saw her appear on screen after her original audition.
During her audition Jennifer Lopez remembered her and Randy slightly remembered her, but she was able to woo the judges and get the ticket to Hollywood for the second time. Four years ago she was featured on an Idol segment and this year she was the very first audition of the season. Her audition wasn’t huge from what we saw of the edited version of it, and Steve Tyler said she needed to improve, but hopefully Rachel will step it up and make the cut this year. She already has fans and has a great talent and we hope to see more of her.
Along with Rachel we saw a host of good and bad auditions. Most of what we saw were quite good and 50 people from New Jersey got the yellow tickets to Hollywood which seems like a lot from the first audition. Usually 20 to 30 people from each location end up in Hollywood, so we may have a few more this season.
The most memorable audition of the evening was Yoji Pop who was a Japanese Michael Jackson impersonator that had the same strange appeal William Hung did several seasons ago. Will Yoji be as popular as Hung, who knows, but just after his performance he started trending in Twitter, so maybe wwe are seeing the beginning of another cult viral phenom. I’m sure we will see him on the finale as a featured act, just like we saw General Larry Platt Pants On The Ground performance last season.
Stay tuned for an interesting American Idol Season 10!

New American Idol Season Begins Tonight
January 19, 2011 | Leave a Comment
Okay everyone, the new season of American Idol begins tonight and it will be a make or break season for the popular music reality show. New judges Steven Tyler of Aerosmith fame, Latino Diva Jennifer Lopez, Jlo and music director and producer Jimmy Iovine (one of the more famous guys you’ve never heard of) will be giving critiques of music star hopefuls.
The inside scoop is that Idol will not be the cruel type show it has been in the past during auditions as Simon Cowell had a put down for every contestant that did not live up to semi-professional standards. The new judges are supposed to be much more focused on helping possible Idols get to where they need to be to make a professional career of music.
It should be an interesting season with three judges out including Ellen DeGeneres, Kara Dioguardi and Simon and three new judges in. We do still have Randy Jackson returning for his 10th season as the only original Idol judge. I’m glad the dog pound will still be barkin! It will be a whole new dynamic on the show, something that viewers just aren’t used to, and this could be a pivotal season in American Idol history.
Stay tuned tonight for American Idol season number 10 on Fox. The premier show airs from 8 to 10 pm eastern time. See you there.

Rihanna American Idol Performance
April 9, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Rihanna performed this past Wednesday on American Idol with her trademark tight as tight can get, painted on outfit and sang her new single Te Amo or Rockstar 101 from her Rated R album. The lyrics consisted of the introspective and continuously repeated phrase, “I’m a rockstar” and that was about it. Good stuff there Rih. It was an interesting Rihanna American Idol performance.
The sultry singer from Barbados and one time better half of R and B singer Chris Brown will be adding a North American leg to her “Last Girl On Earth” tour. Where to these musicians get their creative juices? Last Girl On Earth? Who would go see the last girl on earth may I ask? Nobody, duh!
Anywho, if you just can’t get enough of Rih, you can download Rihanna ringtones for your cell phone here and be reminded of her Barbadosian accent when your phone rings.
Cheers, American Idol fans.
